PARA QUÉ SIRVE
Dorem is a new cleaning cart designed for high-risk areas inside a hospital. Thanks to the design, the product, is more compact, ergonomic, and easier to clean, improving the service of the hospital and simplifying the work of the cleaning personnel.

QUÉ TE INSPIRÓ
During the master course realized in Elisava Barcelona, we had the possibility to work with Hospital Clinic, one of the main institutions of Catalunya. After visiting the hospital, we began to get concerned about how easy it is to take the cleaning for granted, without considering how much effort and time is needed for completing this task. Once we noticed that the cleaning cart of our university was the same as the ones used in the hospital, we got shocked since the cleaning necessities of these two different places are not the same, so we decided to solve the problem, creating a specific product.

CÓMO FUNCIONA
The main difference between a commercial cleaning cart and Dorem is mainly its design. Nowadays, once a high-risk area is cleaned, every single object that has been in the area has to be cleaned to reduce the cross-contamination as much as possible. thanks to the morphology of the cart, Dorem is able to be cleaned faster than a usual cart. This is due to its lack of materials joints, holes, screws, and embeds that increases the difficulty of the operation. The cart is designed in a way that every single surface can be cleaned, without leaving hidden places for the bacteria to proliferate and get spread through the hospital. It also comes with a modular system which allows the expansion of the storage space, or the transportation of a massive ultra-violet blue light lamp; This object allows to make a complimentary cleaning of the room, killing the majority of the bacteria left behind.

PROCESO DE DISEÑO
During the design phase, the product has gone through several processes of optimization before achieving the final result. The first designs had nice aesthetics but did not accomplish the function as we wished, until the main inspiration appeared in front of us. The Go Chair of Ross Lovegrove, a unique piece of design that due to its lines, creates a simple and continuous surface very light and simple to be cleaned. Reinterpreting the lines of this amazing chair, our cart starts to come alive. From here on we started to play with all the objects needed in the cart until we achieved the perfect balance between space optimization and organization.

QUÉ LO HACE DIFERENTE
Conversely of all the cleaning carts in the market, Dorem is designed specifically for high-risk areas of hospitals. The entire design is build around the function that has to be accomplished and solve the problem of the products that already exists. In addition, the cart for the very first time represents visually and emotionally the value of the job that it has to accomplish, creating an object that looks and feel clean.

PLANES PARA EL FUTURO
During the development of the project, various ideas were conceived about how to simplify the job of the cleaning personnel through the usage of new technology, including the use of vacuum machines and microchips that allow the creation of cleaning data that in the future will help to improve the service and method of cleaning. From now on the project will continue to be developed trying to achieve these goals and creating the perfect cleaning tool for the high-risk areas of hospitals around the world.
